Another year, another loaf of bread…
BYOB has moved and is now hosted by
Carola of Sweet and That’s it.
The BYOB Bakers have spent the past year baking and sharing bread together. It’s been a great ride! We have one more roundup at the end of this month to showcase our Holiday breads. Then our BYOB 2011 journey will come to a close.
BYOB began with Sandy of At the Bakers Bench in 2009. The tradition moved to the Bread Experience in 2010 and has rested here for the past year and a half. Now it’s time to get the BYOB train moving again.
I want to thank Sandy for beginning this wonderful tradition and for being willing to pass the BYOB torch on. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed hosting the roundups each month. My journey hosting BYOB is coming to a close, but this is not the end, it’s just another step in our bread-baking journey.
Now, on to the roundup…
Marion in the United Kingdom starts us out with some delicious pumpkin breads. She said “every November I remember gratefully the eighteen months I spent working in California more than 50 years ago. I fell in love then with the pumpkin in all its wonderful guises.” A very nice memory indeed.

Heather of Girlichef made an assortment of lovely Fall breads. She was so inspired by the croissants that she penned a couple of haikus. Those must’ve been some croissants to inspire her to write about them. Now I’m inspired!

Jill of Bakingbread 101 had a busy month of baking as well. She made the following and even found time to visit the Apple Orchards of Glen Oaks with her friends. Sounds like a fun time to me.

Gayathri of Gayathri’s Cook Spot made some delicious treats in November. Gorgeous photos! Everything looks so mouthwatering, I’m getting hungry just looking at them. I’ve never heard of Musk Melon Crackers. Another one to add to my list.
Winnie of Somthing Sweet – Winnie’s blog has been staying warm baking in her kitchen. She made an assortment of goodies this past month including Povitica (PO-VA-TEET-CA) and a beautifully-shaped sweet pumpkin challah.
Connie of mydiscoveryofbread made a variety of sourdough breads this month and a delicious Dutch apple pie. She also made some delicious Kanelbuller (Swedish Cinnamon Buns) and shared her thoughts on Autumn for BBD#44.
Kathy of Panini Happy posted some beautiful classic dinner rolls on her other blog. I like what she had to say about bread, “Bread and I have had a longstanding wonderful relationship – one which I’ve begun to appreciate even more as I become more comfortable baking with yeast.” We are right there with you…
Soep of http://www.ipernity.com/home/soepkipje made some lovely breads in November. She apologized that there wasn’t much time for baking, so most of her breads came from her bread maker. I think a bread machine is a great tool so no condemnation here. The idea is to bake bread…
Margie of Tea and Scones made some Turkish Flat Bread called Ekmek. Say that three times… It looks great!
Tina of Life in the Slow Lane at Squirrel Head Manor joins us this month. We’re glad she found the bread-baking section in the library and we’re especially glad she found us. Welcome!
Pam of Pam’s Bread made some delicious treats in November. They all sound good to me.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the BYOB journey so far. I’ve learned so much from this wonderful group of bakers. Every month, the BYOB bakers share so many creative and wonderful breads and other baked goods. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got so many new breads to try, it could take me another year to make them all.

I especially enjoy baking bread on the weekends and allowing the dough to slow ferment to bring out the flavor and nutritional properties of the bread.
