What are your favorite bread types?

There are three main types of bread: yeast breads, quick breads, and flat breads. Within these categories, there are as many different bread types as there are unique cultures and peoples.

Each bread tells its own story. Come experience these breads with us.

Bread Types

Yeast breads are raised (puffed up) by yeast. They are made from a dough that consists of basically four ingredients - flour, water or milk, salt and yeast. They include artisan breads, pan breads, hearth breads, and other yeast-leavened goods. Learn more about yeast breads.

Quick breads require less preparation time before baking than yeast bread. They are raised by the use of baking powder or some other leaven, a substance that raises the dough. The most common types are biscuits, sweet breads (such as banana bread), muffins, corn bread, popovers, scones, soda bread and pancakes. Learn more about quick breads.

Flat breads contain little or no leaven. Flat bread takes about as long to prepare before baking as quick bread.
