There are many varieties and flavors of sweet breads. Some of my favorites are banana bread, pumpkin bread, and Amish Friendship Bread.

What are sweet breads?
Sweet breads are commonly referred to as quick breads although quick breads can be either sweet or savory in flavor. These types of bread use chemical leavening such as baking soda or baking powder rather than yeast.
Tip: Fruits can be used fresh or dried or as purees or juices to add complementary flavors to breads. Combinations of fruit can be used to add variety.
Batters made with baking soda should be baked soon after mixing for best results because the leavening starts to work as soon as the wet and dry ingredients are combined.
Batters made with baking power can be allowed to rest for 15 to 20 minutes at room temperature before going in the oven to improve the texture and flavor of the bread.
